A family of eight, including four children, from North Carolina was found murdered in June, but that wasn’t the end of the story. Police in Greensboro, N.C., said they had received a lead on the serial murder case: they had a clear DNA match between one of the victims and the murder suspect, Keith Jeffrey Holcombe, a registered sex offender. Police had opened an investigation into the suspect at the time the victims were murdered, and an investigator at the North Carolina Department of Public Safety (N.C.D.S.) said they were searching for the suspect based on “old and raw evidence” provided by the city of Greensboro. Holcombe has been wanted since early June. Authorities have since obtained warrants and arrest warrants for Holcombe, to be held without bond.
